The Epiphany School of Charlotte is an alternative educational solution for children with social and communication challenges. It is a loving and progressive response to the desperation many parents have felt as their children move through our social world just a little differently. These kids might have conditions such as Asperger's Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder or another learning disability. Or, they might have no formal diagnosis at all. Their commonality is a departure from the "main Stream" that affects communication, perception and ultimately, learning.

Enrollment in The Epiphany School of Charlotte is immediately available to 10-14 yr olds whose primary difficulties with social and communication skills impact their ability to learn comfortably and productively. In a small classroom setting, our teachers embrace the individuality of learning style...as well as its complexity. They seek to discover each student's unique way of acquiring and retaining knowledge. Then, they help move them forward, managing struggles by leaning on strengths, and cultivating more strengths all along the way.

New schools teach old values

There is no greater hunger today than for character education. A generation of parents see their children equipped simply to process information, not to apply values and ethical judgment necessary to make informed judgments.

When a school treats our children like computers (processing information), our children become disengaged. Too often, students are trained to “learn for the test” and nothing more. Education is a means to an end, not the beginning of a lifelong love affair with learning. We teach the head, but not the heart. We have seen the consequences of such neglect.

The question of ethics reverberates around Washington, Wall Street and Main Street today.  Having previously founded Trinity Episcopal School and Palisades Episcopal School, I determined to also work with other denominations and educators to go forward.

Regent Schools of the Carolinas was formed to work with strong churches, smart developers and great community partners to established unparalleled schools that bring out the best in student and their families.
