What do I love about Epiphany?
Our students! I love that our students are free to be their wonderful selves.
How does teaching and working with children inspire me?
I love working with children because seeing a child fall in love with reading is my jam. Reading is something that no one can take away from someone and that is integral to a successful, fulfilling life. I also love that children tell it like it is. I love that I can have conversations about dinosaurs one minute and Batman the next. Epiphany kids also give the best hugs and make me laugh more than you can imagine.
My spirit animal:
I WANT to be more sloth-like, but lately I’m all Mama Bear
My favorite movie:
Frida, The Phantom Tollbooth, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, anything based on a book
My favorite board game:
Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Ticket to Ride
My favorite book:
It’s an Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter tie.
My favorite character, cartoon, or superhero:
Batman—he doesn’t have a vast amount of supernatural power, but is a concerned citizen who cares enough to try to take care of others.
My Interests and hobbies:
Being a mom to Violet, hanging out with Mr. D., reading, perpetually trying to get my house “clean,” cooking, volunteering with Girls Rock Charlotte
My origins, travels and/or adventures:
I’m from Northeastern Ohio
My favorite thing to do, place to go, or eatery in Charlotte:
I love any place with a cheese/charcuterie board
